All common questions about the game should be directed here. This includes both single-player and online questions. When asking a question, it is often beneficial to share which mode you are referring to in order to get an accurate response. Also consider sharing any relevant information that may help someone answer your question.

If you're not sure if you should use a spoiler tag or not, err on the side of caution and use one. Also, it's a nice gesture to visibly indicate the general nature of your spoiler before the tag, so people know what you're spoiling.

Arthur really was a man of the Old West

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 01:01 PM PST

Before I started the game when it came out I was like ok I want to play as John, this new guy is going to be trash. Well I was wrong and I like Arthur more than John. In the original game you get the sense that yes John is a family man and was in a gang in which he committed crimes but Arthur on the other hand... he was a man of the west. Tough as nails, didn't give a shit, a total outdoorsman. He was a dying breed going into the 20th century with cities popping up. When you go into St.Denis for the first time you could see that Arthur and Dutch stuck out like sore thumbs, they appeared to be men out of their times. In this case, mid 1800s New Frontier living. It was fitting that he died in 1899 and didn't make it to the 20th century. His way of life, simplistic, and nature based was not seen as something that would be allowed in the new century with cities popping up everywhere and the government able to find anyone anywhere even if you lived in secluded frontier areas. Arthur was a old breed who would've rather died than conform to the new world. John tried to do that but was killed. Even Dutch explained how he couldn't conform before he died. The 20th century would have no place for an Arthur Morgan. Although I really wish he lived and escaped somewhere (Tahiti?) and we see him in a Red Dead 3 set in the 1920s
