All common questions about the game should be directed here. This includes both single-player and online questions. When asking a question, it is often beneficial to share which mode you are referring to in order to get an accurate response. Also consider sharing any relevant information that may help someone answer your question.

All story spoilers must be displayed with the proper format:

    >!RDR is a great game!<

    gives you:

    RDR is a great game

If you're not sure if you should use a spoiler tag or not, err on the side of caution and use one. Also, it's a nice gesture to visibly indicate the general nature of your spoiler before the tag, so people know what you're spoiling.

As I'm exploring the swamps searching for the Legendary Sun Alligator, I see a small glowing object on one of the islands. When I go out to see what it is, I realize it's another players Gator hat next to a large indent in the mud... RIP, whoever you were ❤

I know she gets a good amount of dialogue in the Epilogue but I wish you could do some little story missions with Abigail and Arthur.

Caught the Legendary Marble Fox giving orders to the troops / doing a drug deal / telling a scary story / idk what. What do you think it was doing?

Got this shot of Arthur, Micah and Dutch from the first mission and I got to say, it gives me a weird Christmas vibe.

Just finished the second epilogue, headed towards the desert to test the photo mode. The story really caught me, this is one of the best games I’ve ever played! Bravo Rockstar!

Would anyone wanna see a proper outlaw game? As in rdr1 and rdr2 outlaws are already dying out. And pearsons photo seems like the gang i would like to see. Smaller so we can get to know them more. (and a baby jack)

I love his little tie-in to Sister Calderon and when Micah taunts him I see red.

I renovated the Van Horn Mansion and restored it to its former glory with the Map Editor for PC! All we need now is a family mod and we have Sims 5 ready.

(Spoilers) I still remember when Red Dead Redemption II was announced and how I and many others reacted to Arthur Morgan.

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 11:23 PM PDT

I thought there would be no one who could be on the same level as John Marston. However, of all possible outcomes, not only did this game add the missing piece to John's character but it gave us possibly the best video game protagonist of all time with Arthur goddamn Morgan!

I remember many as well as myself doubting the idea that we would be playing the entire game, a prequel to the first game no less, as Arthur. How could that work? It will sideline John and these new characters will muddy and complicate an already fantastic story.

    But that didn't happen.

Instead we got, what I believe is not only Rockstar's best game, but also their best story. Arthur and John are both done justice here, same for Dutch, Bill, Javier, Abigail, little Jack, and yes even ol' Uncle. Not to mention all of these amazing new characters. It really speaks for the quality of the writing where I can remember the names and personalities of each member from Dutch's gang.

Just made it to the epilogue of my second playthrough. Knowing what happens to Arthur gave me more freedom to examine every detail of his character that I missed the first time around. Playing a noble Arthur is the only true path in this story and makes the most sense for his character. He is a deeply flawed man, an outlaw who has done terrible things. But as he slowly loses faith in Dutch and wastes away from tuberculosis, he realizes that their way of life is over and that he needs to find redemption in what little time he has left. While not entirely original, the execution of Arthur's character is downright flawless. Arthur is not only a badass outlaw, but he also sympathetic and relatable. Also, let's not forget Roger Clark, who did an outstanding job bringing Arthur to life.

Knowing how Red Dead 1 ends makes Arthur's end all the more tragic. He bought John more time but in the end the ways of the new world would eventually destroy them all. The only happy ending is seeking redemption despite the inevitability of an early death.

This is why Red Dead Redemption as a whole works so well. Rockstar has given us two of the best character arcs in gaming while also telling two of the best stories in the industry. I'm so glad these games didn't get completely overshadowed by Grand Theft Auto because in my opinion, Red Dead is the one that overshadows GTA. Maybe not entirely in sales and success, but definitely in quality.

[Spoiler] Something interesting Arthur says to Charles

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 08:40 PM PDT

At the end of chapter 2 when Arthur and Charles go to find a new place to camp, Arthur says to Charles "there ain't no way Dutch is just gonna hide away in a cave somewhere. Goes against everything he stands for". Given that part of the camp in chapter 6, Beaver Hollow, is a cave, this seems like an interesting bit of foreshadowing that I didn't notice in my previous playthroughs. Just thought I would share!

This "lake" is the main water source for the Kamassa river. Out of map, it's not actually filled with water and you can actually walk to the bottom of the lake bed
