What happens if you follow the random prisoner transports Posted: 07 Aug 2020 09:27 PM PDT I know the tiles sounds clickbaity, but because I'm not a piece of shit like that YouTuber, MrBossFTW, I'll tell you upfront what happens. Nothing. Literally nothing as far as I can tell. The wagon seems to move on a random generated path. They escorting lawmen don't turn the prisoner in. There aren't any Easter eggs where someone else lays ambush to the wagon. There's just nothing. Now you know. And you can stop reading here. I've wondered this for a while. I've tried googling it but found no relevant results. I know these encounters are irritatingly meaningless. Your net honor for freeing the prisoner but killing the lawmen is 0 or possibly even -ve. I've freed a couple of prisoners and only one has given me a robbery tip. Otherwise you can't even interact with the prisoners once you free them! They just start running and then keep running. I encountered this wagon a little east of Strawberry. It passed through Strawberry immediately, I thought they'll turn the prisoner in, but the didn't. I kept following and it took the scenic route through West Elizabeth, basically traversing the road by the western edge of the map. Eventually it was pretty much exactly north of where I encountered the wagon. Basically it went west, north and then back east, instead of just going north. By this point, I was suspicious that this will amount to nothing. I even paused the game to again Google what happens. But I found nothing, so I soldiered on. Eventually the wagon crossed the Dakota river near Cumberland Falls turning south, continued along the eastern bank of the river. It crossed to the river again, just north of Bard's Crossing, followed the western bank of the river north and then crossed back over to the eastern bank! Now I was certain that the wagon is programmed to just follow a random path and nothing will happen. So I did what anyone else would've done, killed the four lawmen, freed the prisoner, hogtied him, and then threw a Molotov at him for wasting my goddamn time! All told, I spent 17 in-game hours (noon to 5 AM) following this wagon. Not sure what that translates to in real minutes. There is one interesting thing that I do want to point out. Since this wagon itself is a random encounter and because I was following close behind it, I didn't have another random encounter the entire time I was following it. I'm sure this this the longest duration and longest distance I would've travelled without a single random encounter. Has anyone else tried following a prisoner wagon?? [link] [comments] | ||
